The Acer XS driver has been rated a "great buy" by Golf Tips magazine! These were the comments by the editor:
- Key Feature: The aerodynamic crown and deep face combine to produce some serious forgiveness across more of the clubface. Meaning, mis-hits fly straighter and farther.
- Who It's For: Budget-minded golfers who know that you don't have to pay big bucks for an outstanding driver. Really, this a great value for what you get.
- Wow Factor: Awesome price point and solid performance.
Acer continues to make some of the finest drivers available in the market today. The Acer XS Titanium driver will be no exception. It takes driver technology to a new level How did Acer do it? Well, first they made the height of the driver a little taller, and the breadth a bit wider, and this gives the XS driver it's fuller-bodied look. And they maintained the 460cc driver volume limit by shortening the heel-to-toe dimension just a bit. This small amount of shortening allows the head to rotate quickly around the hosel, making this driver very very easy to square up at address.
Another improvement was to get rid of all the weight possible from the top of the crown to lower the center of gravity. Lowering the center of gravity helps to optimize spin and launch angle for the average player. This no doubt will result in the greatest distance possible. Next, the face of the driver got an improvement where the sweet spot covers an even wider area.
This standard version of the Acer XS driver series is made to fit every golfer. The lowest lofted 9.5º version is manufactured with a 1º open face to prevent hooking the ball – this works out best for players that prefer a lower lofted driver, especially with this shorter heel to toe profile. The 10.5º and 12º lofts will work for the majority of us golfers that can benefit from a little higher launching head.
The great shape of the XS will appeal to the most discerning eyes, but possibly even more important to many is the great (muted) sound at impact.
